Wow, Venezuela! What a country. From its stunning beaches to its vibrant culture, there’s so much to explore. I’m so excited to dive into all that Venezuela has to offer. From the bustling cities of Caracas and Maracaibo, to the lush jungles of Amazonas and Delta Amacuro - it’s gonna be an adventure! Geography: Venezuela is located in the northern part of South America, bordered by Colombia, Brazil, Guyana and the Caribbean Sea. It has a total area of 916,445 square kilometers and is divided into 23 states and one federal district.
Population: As of 2019, Venezuela had an estimated population of 28 million people with a population density of 30 people per square kilometer. The majority of Venezuelans are mestizo (mixed European and Amerindian ancestry) or white (mostly Spanish descent).
Economy: Venezuela has a mixed economy based on oil production and exports as well as manufacturing, agriculture and services sectors. The country’s main export commodities include petroleum products, iron ore, aluminum oxide and steel products.
Government: Venezuela is a federal presidential republic with executive power vested in the President who serves as both head of state and head of government for a six-year term that can be renewed once for another six-year term only if approved by popular vote in an election held every five years according to the 1999 Constitution which replaced the 1961 Constitution after Hugo Chávez was elected president in 1998 .
Culture: Venezuelan culture is heavily influenced by its Spanish colonial history as well as its indigenous roots which have resulted in a unique blend that includes music genres such as salsa, merengue and joropo; traditional dishes like arepas; art forms like tambores
